I would like to start again with a quote that is very close to my heart:
“Man surprised me most about humanity. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.” Dalai Lama
I think this kind of sums up the mankind, don’t you think? How crazy is that?
During difficult times we need something to refer back to, to comfort us, and usually this something is you. You are missing your inner self, you’ve lost it somewhere along the journey. You’ve concentrated so much on the future that you are not being present and happy.
When I found myself lost during some difficult periods of my life, I knew I had to find something to give me strength to carry on. I felt so out of control of what was happening to me, this made me panic. I needed something to believe in, to trust and that would show me the right path.
Although I have been christened, I have never been a religious person. I believed in myself that what I do is what is true. But this time I needed something more. When you loosing yourself, you need something to hold you and comfort you to make sure that everything is going to be alright.
So I went for a big research, read a lot about various beliefs, religions and theories, but the one I find the most comfort, confidence and freedom in, is Buddhism, along with yoga and meditation. I didn’t feel the pressure to believe in something I don’t want to; it was made to be that way that it’s just feels alright. It surprised me but the more I read the more I find explanations for things.
It was very different from anything I was used to but in a good way. I used to find myself giggling in embarrassment when I tried yoga first, same with the mantras. But slowly it became my routine and I never looked back. This is the most eye opening experience for me. I found myself again, the happy person who I used to be and the way my friends used to know me. Success.

With everything in life, you have to find the way that is right and the way it works for you. Nobody can judge you for trying different things. The main focus here is to make your life better and enjoy the time you have.
