Stop working against your goals…

The title sounds silly, why would you do that, right? Because of fear, self-confidence and belief, we often find excuses not to do what we are supposed to do at the time. You are self-sabotaging – finding ways to avoid being able to reach your goals. Excuses, other important things to do, you might say “It’s quicker to do this first, easier to do that first!

I remember every day that I spent in sorrow, when you get caught up in other people’s life plans. You get distracted with your career, children’s needs, holidays that are only for show and somewhere along the line you lose yourself. Where did my plans go that I have imagined my life will turn out to? What happened to my values that I stand for and my pact with my best friends when we were kids? We promised to ourselves that by the time we are in our 30’s we will be well set off for life.

As we get older and find out how difficult life can be and the challenges we face, we lose the vision and the passion for these plans. How sad is that? This person, this child is still inside you, you just have to awaken it and let the imagination fly like it never did before. Forget the fear that holds you back, play with your vision and see where it takes you. Just think that nothing stands in your way and you can do whatever you want. What would that be? Is that scary? What’s the worst that can happen?
You might be afraid to fail, so what? Then you stand up and start again.

Feel the courage to achieve more than you can imagine. You will have to learn to accept that there will be good days and bad days, you have to recognise what it is that bothering or worrying you and find the best to deal with that issue, situation…

How we can waken up that child who had these dreams and life goals? The way to do it is to explore our values deeper and follow what comes easily to us. Something that’s second nature doesn’t require great effort because our passion drives it and we just love doing it. This way we can succeed and make our dreams come true.

So you have to think and search your soul a little and make a note of these vales. What do you believe in? What makes you passionate? What makes you get out of bed every morning?

My values are: passion, build, plan, experiment, explore, creativity, fun, accomplishment and impact.

When you have these values, you can add them to your “Big me up” notebook, as well as your goals that you have listed.

I know this seems overwhelming, it took me a while to get here but trust me; if you put your mind to it you will be able to make a list. Don’t wait and let life pass you by, start today and have the courage to stand up and say; I have done this.
